Twitter and Bing Renew Social Search Partnership

Twitter and Bing have renewed their real-time search partnership, the two announced today in an enigmatic Twitter chat between their two brand accounts.

The two anthropomorphized accounts reminisced about their past two years of working together to incorporate Twitter’s firehose of tweets into Bing search and agreed to “stick together and do bigger and better things.”

We’d previously written about how Twitter and Microsoft were renegotiating their deal in the context of a similar one with Google falling apart earlier this summer.

Twitter was asking for about $30 million per year for its exhaustive real-time stream, which was a doubling of the previous fee.

Below is the Storify summary of the romance of Twitter and Bing, as chronicled by Twitter spokesperson Carolyn Penner — who confirmed via email that the “partnership has been extended.”
