Newspaper Report Cites Amazon Warehouse for “Brutal” Heat
Amazon gets high marks for customer service, but conditions at one of its distribution warehouses are reportedly unpleasant and sometimes unsafe. A story in the Allentown, Pa., Morning Call reports that workers at an Amazon facility, many of them hired by a temp agency, complained about “brutal” heat and an unrelenting pace that sent several of them to the hospital this summer. A statement from Amazon to the New York Times says the company is committed to its workers’ safety, but didn’t dispute the Morning Call’s report.
