PlayUp Launches Group Messaging App for Live Sports
PlayUp today is announcing its iPhone and iPad social sports app for U.S. users. The app hosts live private and public fan hangouts during every NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS and college football game.
The app’s functionality is similar to group messaging apps like GroupMe, with group discussions centered on real-time score updates from a particular game.
Four-year-old PlayUp this year raised a seemingly insane $50 million from individual investors it declined to disclose. The company also offers text-based sports products in other countries; its most popular one is for cricket fans in India.
