News Corp. Board Backs Murdoch

News Corp.’s board gave its unanimous support to Chairman and Chief Executive Rupert Murdoch on Wednesday, saying it has “full confidence” in his ability to continue to lead the media company.

The brief statement came a day after a U.K. parliamentary committee probing illegal voice-mail interceptions by the company’s now-closed News of the World tabloid released a final report that concluded Mr. Murdoch is “not a fit person to exercise the stewardship of a major international company.”
