Hey, Kiddies, Here’s a Funny Picture of an iPad Mini Prototype, Ba-Ha!

After busting the clown who burglarized the home of the late Steve Jobs, authorities have recovered one of the iPads stolen from it — from another bozo. Literally.

Police say that Kariem McFarlin, the man charged with stealing some $60,000 worth of electronics and jewelry from the Jobs home in mid-July, gave one of the iPads he pilfered to “Kenny the Clown,” a Bay Area party clown.

Unaware of the device’s provenance, Kenny — whose real name is Kenneth Kahn — clowned around with it for days, entertaining tourists, until McFarlin’s arrest. After that, police came calling and recovered the iPad from Kahn, who had assumed it was just a hand-me-down from a friend who’d upgraded to the new iPad (a mime would have kept his mouth shut …).

“It still hasn’t really 100 percent set in for me. It was Steve Jobs’s iPad — literally,” Kahn told the Mercury News, which first reported the story. “If this thing weren’t so tragic, it would be comical.”

I think the NSA has a job to do and we need the NSA. But as (physicist) Robert Oppenheimer said, “When you see something that is technically sweet, you go ahead and do it and argue about what to do about it only after you’ve had your technical success. That is the way it was with the atomic bomb.”
