Amazon Buys Liquavista From Samsung
Looks like Samsung’s efforts to sell off its Liquavista subsidiary have paid off. Amazon on Monday said it had acquired the company, which develops low-power, high-visibility electrowetting displays. Amazon did not disclose a price, though rumors circulating in March suggested Samsung was looking for less than $100 million. In confirming the acquisition, Amazon declined to elaborate on its plans for Liquavista, though its technology is almost certainly headed for the retailer’s Kindle e-readers.
