Just Like Google, Microsoft Formally Challenges Data Disclosure Gag Order
Microsoft has filed a motion in the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court seeking permission to publicly disclose information on requests received under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, or FISA. Previously, Facebook reached an agreement with the federal government to disclose its data requests from government agencies in aggregate. In a motion filed last week, Google pushed for much the same thing, but with fewer restrictions than those in Facebook’s agreement.
