Cheat Sheet: Nokia Launches the Lumia 1020, a Pricey and Powerful Camera Phone
With the 41 megapixel camera the focal point of the Lumia 1020, Nokia is going to spend a lot of time on Thursday showing off the phone’s camera features.
But if you want to get a sense of the Lumia 1020 in a snapshot, here’s what you need to know.
- While it packs the same 41 megapixels as on the PureView 808, Nokia has learned a lot in the months since that Symbian phone arrived, adding image stabilization, better software and an updated sensor.
- The device will arrive later this month in the U.S. on AT&T and then roll out to other global markets, including China.
- In the U.S., it will sell for $299.99 with a new contract, a high but not unheard of price for a high-end smartphone. It comes in yellow, black and white.
- Optional accessories include a wireless charging plate as well as a $79 camera mount with shutter button, tripod mount and an extra 1,000 mAH battery.
