“Smart” Scale-Maker Withings Raises $30 Million to, Well, Scale
Withings, a France-based maker of digital-health devices, has raised $30 million in venture capital funding from Bpifrance, Idinvest Partners, 360 Capital Partners and repeat investor Ventech. Withings makes a Wi-Fi-connected scale that automatically sends your weight data to your phone; it also makes a smart baby monitor and, most recently, a wearable activity-tracker called the Pulse. The company plans to use the funding to further expand overseas and build up its research and development teams.
