MCX, Big Retailers’ Mobile Wallet Initiative, Finally Names a CEO
MCX, the yet-to-launch mobile wallet and payments company backed by some of the biggest names in retail, has named Dekkers Davidson as its CEO. The company had been without an official CEO since it announced its creation in August. Davidson was most recently a managing director at Barclaycard US, a member of the Barclays Group, which launched a mobile wallet that used QR codes and stored information in the cloud — two expected features in the forthcoming MCX product. The cooperative recently added department store giant Kohl’s to its membership group that already included companies such as Walmart, Target and Best Buy.
