LivingSocial Suffers Web and App Outage

LivingSocial.com and LivingSocial’s iPhone app are both down right now.

A visit to its website returns a message that reads, “LivingSocial is temporarily down for scheduled maintenance,” but it would be a really strange move to intentionally make the site inaccessible during the middle of the afternoon on both coasts.

An attempt at logging into its iPhone app also returned an error message.

“We are aware of the technical issue with our website and are working to resolve it,” a LivingSocial spokeswoman wrote in an email. “Apologize for any inconvenience. Please check back soon.”

The company’s portal for merchants has also been affected, according to a source.

The website has been down for at least 50 minutes an hour, according to the time stamp on a customer complaint on Twitter.

On the bright side, the company has a pretty awesome “under maintenance” page starring monsters at work.
