Hearsay Social Raises $30M More to Help Companies Sell Socially

Social sales company Hearsay Social has gotten a $30 million vote of confidence led by its existing investors, Sequoia Capital and NEA. With customers in fields such as financial services and insurance, whose salespeople use the platform to connect with their own customers on social media, the San Francisco-based company has now raised $51 million over the past four years. Hearsay Social is led by CEO Clara Shih, who is also on the board of Starbucks.

Another intimate apparel company is entering the fray, but with a technological twist. ThirdLove, which is announcing a $5.6 million investment from NEA, Andreessen Horowitz and Michael Kors, says its smartphone app can fit women for lingerie by simply analyzing a photo that they take of themselves. The ThirdLove app then shows customers a selection of its own bras and panties that are the right fit for them.

Social Radar Raises $12.75 Million Round

Social Radar, the mobile-focused startup that aims to connect users through location-based targeting and social network cross-referencing, announced a $12.75 million Series A round on Wednesday. The round was led by New Enterprise Associates, Grotech Ventures and Swan & Legend Ventures, with participation from Steve Case, Ted Leonsis, Dave Morin, Kevin Colleran, and a number of other angel investors. Dayna Grayson from NEA, Steve Fredrick from Grotech Ventures, Fred Schaufeld from Swan & Legend Venture Partners, and angel investor Kevin Colleran will all join Social Radar’s board of directors.

Twitter Engineering SVP Joins Board at Mobile Payments Company Braintree

Twitter SVP of engineering Chris Fry has joined the board of directors at mobile payments platform Braintree, the company announced on Friday. Braintree provides the backend infrastructure powering a large number of sites, including Fab, Uber, Airbnb and others, and is doing north of $8 billion in payments volume on its platform annually. Fry, who was chosen specifically for his infrastructure background, joins the likes of NEA, Accel Partners, Braintree CEO Bill Ready and Nigel Morris of Capital One on the company’s board.
