Samsung’s iPad Infringement Plain as the Sydney Opera House
More rousing battle rhetoric in the patent dispute between Apple and Samsung in Australia.
During the first day of a two-day hearing over whether Samsung’s Galaxy Tab should be banned in the country, Apple attorney Steven Burley said Samsung knew full well that its tablet infringed on its touch-screen patents, but brought the device to market anyway.
“It must have been as plain as the Opera House to Samsung that the Apple patents were right in front of its eyes and they were wide open,” Burley said. “They ought to clear the way in advance rather than try to crash through.”
Samsung continues to dispute those claims, but has agreed to delay the Galaxy 10.1’s Australian launch pending a decision by the court.
