White House to Announce Cybersecurity Order
White House officials are readying an executive order, expected to be announced Wednesday, that establishes voluntary cyber security standards — after a White House-backed cyber security bill failed in August.
The order would create a federal-government led group to work with the private sector to create and implement voluntary standards for companies running critical infrastructure. It would also take additional measures to improve information sharing and bolster cyber security through current regulatory authorities.
