Rovio Hires Nokia Executive as COO

Rovio Entertainment Ltd. has tapped a longtime Nokia Corp. executive as its new chief operating officer, at a time when the maker of Angry Birds looks to pivot from a hot Nordic game developer into a global entertainment powerhouse.

The Finnish company on Monday said it has hired Teemu Suila to replace Harri Koponen. Mr. Suila most recently ran startup activities for Nokia, according to a LinkedIn profile with his name, and had worked in a number of roles at the Finnish handset maker since 1995, with responsibilities mostly in the strategy and development departments.
