"Spectacular" Nook Sales Not Enough to Brighten Barnes & Noble's Earnings, Outlook
Though Barnes & Noble reported today that sales of its Nook e-reader were “nothing short of spectacular,” that its digital business was up 42 percent over last year and that its overall sales climbed 21 percent, the company lost $1.02 a share in the quarter, 22 cents more than anticipated. For Q2 and the rest of the year, guidance is below expectations as well.
