Oracle Posts Strong Gains in Earnings, Revenue
Increased corporate spending in the last quarter helped lift business software giant Oracle past the Street’s expectations. Oracle reported net income of $1.35 billion, up 20 percent year over year, and earnings, excluding one-time items, of 42 cents a share. Revenue was $7.5 billion, an increase of 48 percent from the same period last year. Analysts had been expecting 37 cents a share on $7.27 billion revenue.
