Meet Foodspotting CEO Alexa Andrzejewski (Video)

Yesterday NetworkEffect posted on Foodspotting’s new $3 million Series A round of funding. The company is one of many that make apps to help restaurant goers find yummy places to eat; however Foodspotting focuses on specific dishes, has an interface that’s all about photos, and allows only positive reviews.

On the occasion of the funding announcement, I joined Foodspotting co-founder and CEO Alexa Andrzejewski at a cafe called Ironside near her office, where she recommends the latte made with homemade vanilla sauce. (Unfortunately, perhaps in part due to its popularity on Foodspotting, Ironside was out of the vanilla latte, so she had to settle for a mocha.)

We recorded a video interview in which Andrzejewski explains how Foodspotting expects to reach critical mass, what makes it different from its competition, and how it ultimately hopes to become “the Pandora for food,” with personalized food recommendations, sponsored channels and advertising targeted by location.
