Cisco Offering Early Retirement to Workers
Cisco Systems Inc. is offering some of its U.S. and Canadian employees the option of retiring early, part of a series of moves to cut costs and restructure the company.
Employees who are at least 50 years old, and have a combined age and years of service of at least 60 as of July 8 are eligible for the program. The company hopes to achieve cost savings through the program, according to memos it sent to employees.
A company spokeswoman declined to say how many people were eligible for the program, or how much it would save.
