Acer Expects Loss for the Year
Acer Inc. said Wednesday that it doesn’t expect to post a profit this year, with conditions that resulted in a second-quarter net loss likely to continue weighing on the company.
The Taiwan personal-computer maker had previously said that it expected a profit in 2011, but Acer Chief Executive J.T. Wang said Wednesday that inventory adjustments, falling demand for notebook PCs and a weakening global economy led to a change in outlook.
