From Time to Time, Apple Buys Smaller Companies, and Anobit Is One of Them

Apple has finally confirmed reports that it has acquired flash-memory outfit Anobit. Apple spokesman Steve Dowling told AllThingsD and Bloomberg Businessweek that the company had made the purchase, though he declined to provide a price. “Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans,” Dowling told AllThingsD.
