U.S. Charges Analyst in SAC Case
Federal prosecutors charged a former research analyst with giving inside information about a partnership between Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo Inc. to a trader for hedge-fund giant SAC Capital Advisors LP.
The analyst, Sandeep Aggarwal, was arrested in San Jose, Calif., Monday and is expected to appear for a court hearing in a northern California federal court Tuesday. He also was charged with insider trading in a civil suit by the Securities and Exchange Commission Tuesday.
A woman who answered the phone listed on Mr. Aggarwal’s website Monday night said he was unavailable, and declined to comment on Tuesday morning. A lawyer for Mr. Aggarwal couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
