Level 3 to Lay Off About 700 Employees
Level 3 Communications Inc. said it will cut about 6.6 percent of its work force next month to bolster its performance, shedding nearly 700 positions out of about 10,600 across the world.
The latest layoffs, reported Thursday by the Denver Post, bring the telecommunications company’s staffing down further from its peak following its 2011 acquisition of rival Global Crossing Ltd. The combined company last year employed nearly 11,000 people.
