Amazon Opens U.K. Grocery Site
Amazon.com (AMZN) has launched a U.K.-based grocery Web site, Reuters reports. Apparently, the online grocery biz is booming in the U.K. market, with projected sales of $10.9 billion by 2014. Other players in the market include supermarket chains Tesco, J. Sainsbury and Asda, a Wal-Mart (WMT) unit, and the online grocery specialist Ocado, which plans to go public later this month with an initial valuation of about $1.5 billion.
