AMD's Bulldozer and Bobcat Ready to Roll
At the Hot Chips conference this evening, Advanced Micro Devices will unveil details of two new processor designs, Bulldozer and Bobcat, aimed at pushing some of Intel’s market share in AMD’s direction. Bulldozer will be used in multiple-core server and desktop chips due out next year, while Bobcat will be a low-power core aimed at netbooks, tablets and other portable devices–a market where it will compete with Intel’s Atom.
